KAI Records Train Tickets For The Eid Period Already Sold 2.2 Million

JAKARTA - PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) or KAI recorded a high public interest in rail transportation services during the Lebaran 2025 Transport period. This is reflected in the total number of train tickets that have been sold reaching more than 2.2 million.

KAI Vice President Public Relations Anne Purba said that until March 19, 2025 at 07.00 WIB, 2,239,357 train tickets had been sold out of the total seating capacity provided 4,591,510.

The total number of train tickets that have been sold has reached 2,239,357 tickets. This figure consists of 2,167,588 JJ train tickets or 62.94 percent of the total capacity provided. Meanwhile, local train ticket sales managed by KAI reached 71,769 tickets or about 6.25 percent of the total capacity," he said in an official statement, Wednesday, March 19.

Anne said KAI saw a surge in demand on several favorite departure dates, especially from Gambir Station and Pasar Senen, which even surpassed 100 percent occupancy.

Furthermore, Anne said the train occupancy rate which exceeded 100 percent was due to dynamic passengers, namely passengers who went down between the initial station and the final destination station.

"We continue to monitor the trend of booking tickets and will optimize services to accommodate high travel demand during this year's Eid Transport period," he said.

For customers who have not received a ticket on their favorite departure date, KAI recommends looking for another alternative date or choosing a trip with a scheduled departure that is still available.

" Monitoring of ticket availability can be done through the Access by KAI application and web booking.kai.id," he explained.

Here are some departure dates, long-distance train occupancy from Gambir Station and Pasar Senen Station has exceeded 100 percent:

Train Departure from Gambir Station:

1. 27 March 2025: 103 percent (21,410 out of 20,753 seats)

2. 28 March 2025: 108 percent (22,490 out of 20,758 seats)

3. March 29, 2025: 107 percent (22,246 out of 20,746 seats)

4. March 30, 2025: 102 percent (21,150 out of 20,758 seats)

Train Departure from Pasarsenen Station:

1. March 21, 2025: 108 percent (26,928 out of 24,964 seats)
