JAKARTA - PT Pertamina (Persero) confirmed that it would involve independent institutions to test the quality of Pertamina's fuel oil (BBM).

Pertamina's President Director, Simon Aloysius Mantiri, said that previously the Center for Oil and Gas Testing or Lemigas had carried out a series of tests after taking samples at the Pertamina Plumpang Fuel Terminal (TBBM) as well as various Public Fuel Filling Stations (SPBU) in the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, and South Tangerang areas, including samples taken in conjunction with the visit of Commission XII DPR RI at gas stations in the Cibubur area, Depok.

"It is certain that this idea is very good and we welcome it. Of course, with a third party that is more independent, it can conduct tests with more acceptable standards," Simon said at a press conference in Jakarta, Monday, March 3.

Simon added, involving third parties from independent institutions is expected to restore public trust. Simon also ensured that Pertamina would involve the community in supervising the distribution of fuel belonging to this state-owned oil and gas company.

"In order to increase the level of public trust, we will involve other parties, even community involvement, we encourage them to jointly supervise," continued Simon.

To involve the community, Simon said that his party had prepared a special complaint service for call center 135 which had been used so far.

"I will also give my special number at 0814 1708 1945. Currently, I can receive an SMS, which will soon be registered for the WhatsApp application," explained Simon.

Simon said that people can contact these contacts if people find irregularities or situations that are not appropriate in the quality of fuel or inappropriate practices in the field.

"We can immediately call the number so we can follow up on it at the first opportunity," said Simon.
