Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi encourages the acceleration of the construction of the Karawang Fast Train Station access road, especially in the Cibeet River area in Bekasi Regency, West Java.

The Minister of Transportation said that the construction of road and bridge access through the Cibeet River could make it easier for the people of Bekasi Regency to access high-speed trains through Karawang Station.

"I hope that in the near future this road access can be built," said the Minister of Transportation while reviewing the location of the construction of the Cibeet River bridge that connects the Bekasi Regency and Karawang Regency areas, quoted by Antara, Wednesday, February 26.

The Minister of Transportation reviewed the construction location with the Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning (ATR)/Head of the National Land Agency (BPN) Nusron Wahid.

Since its inauguration on December 24, 2024, road access to and from the Karawang High Speed Train Station continues to be built. The plan is for eight access points to the Karawang High Speed Train Station.

Three points include access in the Cibeet River area, namely the Cibeet bridge point, the area road point on the Bekasi Regency side, and the regional road point on the Karawang Regency side.

The Minister of Transportation said that the progress of the construction of the Cibeet River bridge had reached 36 percent. Furthermore, for road access, the area has been coordinated with the Karawang Regency Government, Bekasi Regency Government and all relevant private parties.

The construction project for the Cibeet River area was carried out by PT Deltamas. The plan is that in addition to the construction of the Cibeet River bridge, 3 km of regional roads will also be built, namely on the side of Bekasi Regency and Karawang Regency.

In addition to access from the Cibeet River area, other access to and from Karawang Station is still in the construction process. Among them are access to Trans Heksa Karawang (THK) on the north and south sides, as well as access to the KM 42+000 toll exit which will be worked on by PT Jasamarga.

"All of these accesses are expected to support the development of the Karawang Station as the latest stopping station for the Jakarta-Bandung high-speed train," the Minister of Transportation said in a statement in Jakarta, Tuesday.

Currently, the Fast Train betters have four stop stations, namely Halim Station, Padalarang Station, Tegalluar Station, and most recently Karawang Station.

Of the total 62 daily trips of the bettersh train, half or 31 train trips have stopped at Karawang Station.

During the two months of operation (period 24 December 2024 - 23 February 2025), the total volume of passengers of the Karawang Station was 20,268 passengers or an average of 327 passengers per day.
