The Ministry Of Energy And Mineral Resources Ensures That The Supervision Of The Implementation Of B40 Runs Optimal

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) coordinates with all stakeholders, one of which is the Plantation Fund Management Agency (BPDP), to ensure that the supervision of the implementation of the biodiesel 40 (B40) program runs optimally.

"We continue to coordinate with all stakeholders so that the implementation and supervision of B40 runs according to plan and provides optimal benefits for the community," said Director General of New, Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (EBTKE) Eniya Listiani Dewi, quoted by Antara, Saturday, February 22.

Untuk pencapaian target penyaluran yang telah ditetapkan, tutur Eniya melanjutkan, kegiatan pengawasan dan monitoringkan tetap dilaksanakan secara maksimal.

Eniya believes that the implementation of the B40 program can reduce Indonesia's dependence on imports of fuel oil (BBM). This is in line with President Prabowo Subianto's Astacita in realizing energy resilience and self-sufficiency in Indonesia.

"This strategic step is part of the government's commitment to accelerating the energy transition, reducing dependence on fuel imports, and accelerating the achievement of clean and sustainable energy targets," he said.

Since its implementation on January 1, 2025, the B40 program has achieved significant distribution realization. As of February 18, 2025, domestic distribution has reached 1.47 million kiloliters (kl) or 9.4 percent of the total national allocation of 15.616 million kl.

Of this number, 767,283 kl from the distribution of PSO or 10.6 percent of the total PSO allocation of 7.55 million kl and 706,481 kl from non-PSO distribution or 8.8 percent of the total non-PSO allocation of 8.062 million kl.

Currently, as many as 79 out of 88 handover points (TBBM) have distributed 40 percent biodiesel mixture (B40). One handover point is still in the stage of increasing facilities in order to support full implementation, while the other eight handover points are in the preparation stage.

To ensure that the transition runs smoothly, the government provides relaxation of the distribution of B35 for handover points that are still adjusting facilities and infrastructure until February 28, 2025.
