JAKARTA - BPJS Ketenagakerjaan continues to strive to expand its social protection reach by intensifying socialization and education, especially to vulnerable and high-risk workers. Most recently, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Jakarta Cilincing provided education to the management of the Rope Access Indonesia Association (ARAI), at the ARAI head office in East Jakarta, Saturday, February 15.
On that occasion, the Head of BPJS Ketenagakerjaan Jakarta Cilincing, Rita Mariana, provided an understanding of the various benefits that workers can get through the BPJS Ketenagakerjaan program, especially those who are categorized as Non-Wage Recipient Workers (BPU).
Rope Access workers, who are members of ARAI, have a high risk of work accidents that can cause physical or even life-threatening losses.
"Work at a height requires special expertise and certification, and demands high vigilance because of the risk of a big accident," said Rita.
Therefore, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan is here to provide protection to workers who are members of the ARAI ecosystem.
"In this case, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan provides various benefits for BPU participants, such as free medical treatment if they have a work accident, defect compensation if there is a loss of organs or permanent defects, as well as compensation for death and funeral expenses for participants who have died," explained Rita.
Not only that, BPJS Ketenagakerjaan also provides educational scholarships for eligible children, so that the benefits of social protection are not only felt by workers, but also by their families.
Seeing the great benefits that can be obtained, ARAI is committed to registering its members as BPJS Ketenagakerjaan participants starting March 2025. This commitment was also welcomed positively by BPJS Ketenagakerjaan.
"So that more workers in the high-risk sector can be protected by the employment social security program." hope Rita.
