Tak Jadi Dipangkas Rp81,38 Triliun, Kementerian PU Bakal Perbaiki Jalan Dan Jembatan

JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo ensured that his party would carry out road and bridge repair activities after the reduction in budget cuts.

Initially, the Ministry of Public Works budget was set at IDR 110.95 trillion, then cut IDR 81.38 trillion. Thus, the remaining IDR 29.57 trillion.

However, the Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) carried out reconstruction, so that the budget cuts of the Ministry of Public Works became smaller. Thus, the Ministry of Public Works' budget for this year is IDR 50.48 trillion.

With the reduction in cuts, said Dody, there are a number of programs that have been budgeted again. One of them is road repairs that were previously completely removed due to efficiency.

"For the preservation of the road, sir, and the rehabilitation of bridges," said Dody during a working meeting (Raker) with Commission V of the DPR RI at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Thursday, February 13.

Dody said road preservation is currently only budgeted for six months. However, he promised to rearrange the budget after ratification in order to carry out road preservation for a full year.

"So as directed by the Chairman (Commission V DPR) yesterday, God willing, after there is an additional budget we can do the preservation. While the time is very short, sir. But, after the budget political process is complete, we will comb again sir so that it can still be in 12 months," he said.

He added that additional budgets would also be used to pay several arrears. One of them is related to the development of IKN.

"The suspension bridges, sir, the handling of landslides and some of the arrears in the rest of the IKN work," he said.
