Meeting Ilham Habibie, Minister Dody Asked PII To Be Involved In Pulling Private Investors For RI Infrastructure

JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works (PU) Dody Hanggodo requested that the Indonesian Engineers Association (PII) be able to participate in bringing in private investors to be involved in infrastructure development in Indonesia.

This was stated after a meeting with the General Chairperson (Ketum) of PII and staff at the PU Ministry office, Jakarta, today, Thursday, February 13.

"So, today we met with the General Chairperson of the Indonesian Engineers Association, Mr. Ilham Habibie. We talked a lot about what could be helped to accelerate development in Indonesia," said Dody to reporters, Thursday, February 13.

"We talked a lot about how PII could fulfill the process, presenting private investors," he continued.

Dody assessed that the presence of private investors in infrastructure development in the country is very important. Given, not all development project costs can be funded by the state budget.

Moreover, he said, on several occasions, President Prabowo Subianto always conveyed the need for the presence of private investors in infrastructure development.

Given, Prabowo targets the Incremental Capital Output Ratio (ICER) to drop from 6.

"(Investors) are private who then there are still certified engineers from Indonesia. The engineer must be certified. Then, how the engineers under the auspices of PII can help with public work (so as to reduce our ICOR to less than 5," he said.

Meanwhile, Head of PII Ilham Habibie said that his party was ready to support the work program of the Ministry of Public Works.

According to Ilham, this collaboration needs to be maintained in order to realize the achievement of Indonesia Gold 2045.

"PII stated that it is ready to support the work program of the Ministry of Public Works, especially in the infrastructure sector," he said.

He said that currently his party has a main focus called reindustrialization. This aims to improve the spirit of the industrial sector in Indonesia.

"Therefore, we are working together to be able to achieve common goals as developed countries and encourage an increase in the national economy," he said.
