JAKARTA - President Director of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk (BRI) Sunarso seeks to expand financial inclusion while making it easier for people to transact through 1.06 million BRILink Agents which reaches 80 percent of the total village in Indonesia.
BRILink's agent is an expansion of BRI's services where BRI cooperates with BRI customers as agents/mitras who can serve banking transactions for the public in real-time online with the concept of sharing fees.
"As of December 2024, BRI has actually established and fostered 1,064,000 BRILink agents throughout Indonesia and these agents are spread over 67,000 villages or more than 80 percent of the total villages in Indonesia," said Sunarso in Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Thursday, February 13.
In addition to providing BRILink Agent services, he said that BRI as the holding Ultra Micro (UMi) parent together with Pegadaian and Madani National Capital (PNM) as subsidiaries also provided Ultra Micro Service Centers (Smile) at 1,032 outlets.
He said that the effort aims to provide access to complete, integrated, and business actors, especially in the ultra micro segment.
"Until the end of December 2024, UMi holdings have served more than 180 million savings customers and 37 million loan customers with credit disbursement of Rp628.67 trillion," he said.
Sunarso said that to support small businesses, his party also distributed people's business loans (KUR) with a value of Rp. 184.98 trillion throughout 2024, the highest among other national banks.
He stated that the lending was able to reach more than 4 million MSMEs throughout Indonesia and had a significant impact on national economic growth.
Support for local business actors, especially MSMEs, is also carried out through LinkUMKM, an online platform that aims to track and monitor Indonesian MSMEs to advance through a series of integrated empowerment programs that currently have 8.9 million users.
