JAKARTA - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) has examined representatives from PT Tunas Ruang Pelabuhan Nusantara (TRPN) regarding the sea fence in Bekasi Regency, West Java, on Thursday, February 6.

Special Staff of the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KP) for Public Relations and Public Communication Doni Ismanto said that the examination was carried out by the Special Police Team for Coastal Area and Small Island Management (Polsus PWP3K) of the Directorate General (Ditjen) of Marine and Fisheries Resources Supervision (PSDKP) of the KKP.

"The results of the examination on Thursday, February 6, confirmed that there were violations related to the Compliance of Marine Space Utilization Activities (KKPRL) and unlicensed reclamation," said Doni in his written statement, Friday, February 7.

According to Doni, PT TRPN has acknowledged the violations committed in the reclamation activities and stated its readiness to be subject to administrative sanctions.

"Including, the demolition of buildings and the restoration of marine space functions as regulated in the Regulation of the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (Permen KP) Number 31 of 2021," he said.

In addition, PT TRPN will submit technical justifications related to some areas that are claimed to have not been utilized and calculate the investment value through the Public Appraisal Services Office (KJPP).

He said, the Directorate General of PSDKP remains convinced that all areas inspected are included in the category of violations of marine space utilization.

"Based on the results of this verification, the value of the administrative fine will be determined immediately after the calculation of the investment value is complete," said Doni.

"In addition, PT TRPN was asked to immediately dismantle part of the fence to ensure that fishermen's access to the sea is not disrupted," he added.
