The Ministry Of Transportation Will Call Drinking Water Companies And Transportation Operators Due To The Deadly Accident Of GT Ciawi

The Directorate General of Land Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) will summon drinking water companies and operators of freight transportation due to a series of accidents at the Ciawi Toll Gate (GT), Bogor City, West Java, Tuesday, February 4.

For information, the accident that killed eight people and 11 people injured involved one gallon truck with police number B 9235 PYW and five other minibus vehicles.

"As a follow-up step, we will summon all leaders of drinking water companies and operators of freight transportation," said Acting Director General of Land Transportation at the Ministry of Transportation Ahmad Yani as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, February 5.

However, Yani has not yet mentioned the schedule for summoning the leadership of the drinking water company and the operator of freight transportation, but confirms that the summons will be made.

He said that his party was coordinating with the local police to collect data and chronology for follow-up coaching by inviting all relevant parties to anticipate recurring events in the future.

He also said that he would conduct safety inspections as well as socialize the implementation of safety management for every company carrying drinking water operating on the Sukabumi-Jakarta route.

"Then we will also continue to provide guidance to the driver through the driver's training, especially regarding the correct driving procedures and procedures for checking the brakes before traveling," added Yani.

Meanwhile, based on data obtained from Mitra Darat, the truck with police number B 9235 PYW has a periodic test status that is still valid until May 11, 2025.

His party emphasizes that all goods transport companies must ensure that the driver's condition and condition of the vehicle are in good condition before use.

"So that it can minimize the risk of accidents," said Yani.

On the other hand, the Traffic Corps (Korlantas) of the National Police deployed a Traffic Accident Analysis (TAA) team at the scene of the deadly accident (TKP) at the Ciawi Toll Gate, Bogor City, West Java.

"This morning we launched the TAA team to make more sure even though last night we processed the TKP," said Director of Law Enforcement (Dirgakkum) Korlantas Polri Brigadier General Pol Raden Slamet Santoso.

He said the TAA team consisted of 10 joint personnel from the Korlantas Polri and the West Java Police.

The personnel will go directly to the crime scene to investigate and identify the cause of the accident.

"This morning, at around 09.00 WIB, we will immediately process the crime scene," he said.
