JAKARTA - PT Perusahaan Gas Negara Tbk (PGN) through its subsidiary Gagas Energi Indonesia (PGN Gagas) provides natural gas as energy for cooking at the Gizi Fulfillment Service Unit (SPPG) Crowsipat Boyolali. Every day, this SPPG provides 6,000 portions of Free Nutrition Food (MBG) for 34 schools.
To support MBG in the SPPG, PGN Gagas distributes 2,000-3,000 m3 of natural gas per month with the beyond pipeline mechanism, namely Compressed Natural Gas (CNG).
PGN as Pertamina's Gas Subholding is committed to supporting the MBG program through the provision of gas networks both by pipeline and beyond pipeline modes. The location of the SPPG, which is not passed by the gas pipeline, can be served using CNG. So the MBG program can use natural gas energy that is practical and flows non-stop 24 hours," said PGN President Director Arief S. Handoko, Wednesday, February 5.
PGN President Director Gagas Santiaji Gunawan added, PGN Gagas provides natural gas networks using the beyond pipeline method through CNG for SPPGs that do not yet have a pipeline gas network.
"The gas trucks are taking gas supplies from nearby sources to be distributed to SPG kitchens. Currently, PGN Gagas is exploring gas distribution for SPPG in Cirebon and Lampung," explained Santiaji.
He explained that natural gas in the form of CNG from the nearest CNG Charging Station is carried using the Gas Transport Module (GTM) every day. Furthermore, GTM will fill in the CNG to Gaslink Cylinder which is channeled to the installation of the SPPG Kraksipat kitchen gas pipeline. Through this system, the operation of the SPPG kitchen which runs from 20.00 WIB to 10.00 WIB can take place continuously.

"The use of large-scale natural gas such as the MBG program will also make the cooking process faster and more efficient," said Santiaji.
