President Jokowi Gives This Information That Makes Regents Happy

JAKARTA – President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) delivered an official speech in front of regional heads who are members of the All-Indonesian Regency Government Association or Apkasi.

In his statement, the President bluntly stated that a number of regions are currently experiencing a "hurricane crash" over the rising prices of various commodities. This situation is called the President is an advantage for the leading commodity-producing regions because there is an appreciation of the selling price in the market.

“We benefit from rising commodity prices. I think those who own oil palm, those who own coal are all happy. Or also those who have nickel, copper, everyone is happy," he said through a virtual channel when opening the Autonomy Expo 2021 application at the Bogor Palace, Wednesday, October 20.

According to the President, this opportunity should be used by the regions to revive the economy during the recovery period. Thus, the target of achieving welfare can be pursued again after previously being depressed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"I am sure that the commodity-producing regions of the economy, God willing, will crawl up," he said.

To note, there is currently an increase in the selling value of various commodities due to the large energy needs throughout the world after the pandemic hit early last year. This condition benefits many producing countries such as Indonesia.

This indication can be seen from the projection of Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP) which is believed to be able to exceed the 2021 State Budget target of IDR 357.2 trillion or 119.8 percent of the ceiling set at IDR 298.2 trillion.
