JAKARTA - Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani Indrawati shared the moment of her meeting with the media boss who is also one of the richest people in the world, Michael Bloomberg. Sri Mulyani shared the rare moment on her Instagram account, @smindrawati.

"I met Michael Bloomberg at Bloomberg's head office in New York," Sri Mulyani wrote in her caption, quoted Tuesday, October 12.

Still in the caption, Sri Mulyani describes the workspace of Michael Bloomberg who is the 10th richest person in the world according to Forbes.

"Mike's workspace is open space - without a partition without a door. In the corner of the room we discuss various things," said Sri Mulyani.

During the meeting, Sri Mulyani and Michael Bloomberg discussed several issues such as climate change and preparations for the COP26 meeting in Glasgow. In addition, it also discussed how the world's efforts to deal with the threat of climate change, especially in terms of funding, and public-private and philanthropic cooperation in funding to be increased.

"Indonesia has created a blended finance platform SDG Indonesia One which is managed by @ptsmi_id PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur where Bloomberg Philanthropist also contributes to Mangrove planting. SDG Indonesia One is a forum for funding collaboration, both equity funding and loans, and grants as well as (de-risking) for the SDG program and climate change projects," explained Sri Mulyani.

Not to forget, they also discussed health issues, about adjusting to working in the United States during the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Some people go back to work in the office, but there are those who still want to work from home. Are they required to wear masks and must they be vaccinated or not? Choices and debates like this are a major issue in the United States, both in the government, in the business world, and in schools/colleges," she explained.

The former Managing Director of the World Bank explained that all countries continue to adjust their habits due to the pandemic. All countries are still grappling with the pandemic and coping with the enormous social and financial-economic impact.

"Indonesia also continues to deal with and control COVID-19, sustainably restore socio-economic activities and continue to push for reforms so that we recover faster and stronger with higher productivity and economic performance," she added.

For information, Michael Bloomberg has assets worth 59 billion or approximately IDR 843.7 trillion (assuming exchange rate: IDR 14.300). He also shared the moment of his meeting on the Twitter account @MikeBloomberg which was posted on October 7.
