Build A Representative Office In Surabaya, Turns Out This Is The OJK Infrastructure Budget For A Year

JAKARTA - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) is said to have built Regional Office Building 4 for East Java Province, which is located on Jl. Governor Suryo no. 28-30, Surabaya City. The facility was groundbreaking directly by the Chairman of the OJK Board of Commissioners, Wimboh Santoso at a ceremony on Saturday, October 9.

When giving his speech, Wimboh said that this step is a concrete form of the role of authorities in strengthening protection for consumers in the financial services sector. In addition, he also said that the presence of the OJK office is expected to support economic development in the region.

"The presence of the independent OJK office building is expected to further strengthen the collaborative and coordinated synergy of all stakeholders in encouraging the improvement of community welfare in East Java," said Wimboh in an official statement quoted Monday, October 11.

On the same occasion, the Governor of East Java Province, Khofifah Indar Parawansa, expressed his appreciation to OJK.

"We believe this effort can support the development of SMEs in the region," he said.

Similarly, Member of Commission XI DPR RI Indah Kurnia also welcomed the independent construction of the OJK Building.

"This building is expected to improve OJK's performance in regulating, supervising the Financial Services Industry, and one of the most important things is protecting consumers and the public in the midst of rampant fraud or illegal online loans," he said.

The OJK Surabaya building itself is claimed to have a Javanese ethnic architectural style that is thick with a touch of culture, local wisdom, and the spirit of struggle typical of East Java.

The building design is also environmentally friendly and is targeted to get a Gold certificate for the New Building criteria from the Green Building Council Indonesia (GBCI). The plan, this building will have 10 floors and is targeted for completion in April 2022.

Although the exact budget for the construction of the Surabaya OJK building is not stated, according to documents obtained by VOI, it is stated that the authority has allocated funds of IDR 80.01 billion for the building and office infrastructure procurement sector.

The budget is included in the OJK budget refocusing for the second to fourth quarters of 2021, which amounts to Rp. 177.21 billion.

Meanwhile, the value of asset procurement in 2021 is IDR 581.7 billion. Meanwhile, the total OJK ceiling for this year is IDR 6.21 trillion.
