The owner's full name Irene Kharisma Sukandar was born in Jakarta on April 7, 1992. Irene Iskandar is known to have been interested in the chess world since childhood. Seeing Irene's talent in playing chess, her father then often invited her to play chess when she was 8 years old.

Irene Iskandar received elementary school education at SD N 3 Pagi Kebayoran Lama, Jakarta. At the next level, she studied at SMP N 16 Bekasi and SMA Nusantara, East Jakarta. After graduating, Irene continued her education at Gunadarma University majoring in English Literature.

Irene's chess talent was even more serious when she entered Catur Utut Adianto School in Bekasi in 1999. There, Irene started practicing chess regularly from Monday-Friday for three to four hours to improve her skills.

Irene's courage finally paid off when she won the chess champion for the first time in grade IV of elementary school. With her dedication to the chess world, Irene continued to carve a victory from one match to another over time.

At the junior high school level, Irene received a Master's degree from the World Chess Federation or Federation Internationale des Echecs (FIDE). At the age of 11, she made Indonesia proud by winning two silver medals at the 2003 Vietnam Sea Games, as well as being the youngest athlete in the event.

When she was 16 years old and still in high school, Irene made history as the first Indonesian to receive a Women's International Grand Master (GMIW) title in 2008. Her achievements led her to join the Indonesian chess national team.

In 2014, Irene achieved a new achievement by obtaining an International Master's degree (IM) after winning a rating of 2400. Her series of brilliant achievements further confirmed Irene as one of the best chess players in Indonesia.
