In Front Of Students, Sri Mulyani Invites Young People To Participate In Development: We Are A Developed Country 2045

JAKARTA - Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani, emphasized that the younger generation has an important role in achieving the nation's goals. For this reason, she encourages young people to participate in the development, especially those who can contribute to the economy.

“One thing that can improve the economy is through superior quality of human resources. That way, God willing, in 2025 when Indonesia is 100th independent, we can become a developed country", she said in a virtual seminar on the transportation sector which was also attended by students of the government-owned transportation college, Friday, October 8.

According to the Minister of Finance, the transportation sector is very important in developing human resources in Indonesia. The reason is, this sector actively supports the government's strategic plan to be able to achieve the ideals of an Advanced Indonesia 2045.

“We need to continue to maintain the momentum of development so that we avoid the middle-income trap or the middle-class income trap, and that requires good human resources and infrastructure. I am sure that all of you who are studying are future leaders", she said.

For that, continued the Minister of Finance, the younger generation must be able to make the best use of time to absorb all knowledge so that they can apply it well in the field. Thus, the nation's development targets can be achieved.

"Of course I want all of you in the learning process to get more from learning content, but also the capability to improve your way of thinking, communication, organization, and collaboration, and of course in the end you can become collaborative and adaptive human beings", she explained.

To note, Indonesia has aspirations to become a developed country in 2045 or precisely on the 100th Anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia. At that time, Indonesia's gross domestic product (GDP) is expected to rank fifth in the world with a per capita income of US$23,000.

"There are no easy goals. Stay excited. If you face difficulties, consider it part of the struggle which one day will definitely not betray the results", concluded the Minister of Finance, Sri Mulyani.
