Who Is Sharon Florencia, Bank Mandiri Employee Who 'skipped' To Become SOE Minister To Replace Erick Thohir

JAKARTA - Erick Thohir "resigned" his position as Minister of State-Owned Enterprises for one day, Thursday, September 30. The figure who replaced her was Sharon Florencia, a woman who was selected in the Ministry of SOE's gender equality campaign program, titled #GirlsTakeover.

"Sharon will chair the leadership meeting. There are two agendas that will be discussed, namely the issue of gender equality programs and support from the Ministry of SOEs for education, the environment, and MSMEs," said Erick Thohir, quoted from Antara.

So who exactly is Sharon Florence?

Monitored from her personal Instagram account, namely @sharonflorencia, this 24-year-old woman is an employee of one of the state-owned enterprises, namely PT Bank Mandiri Tbk. He is a graduate of Psychology UGM with cum laude predicate.

Sharon Florencia, who was born in Magelang, Central Java, was appointed as an employee of Bank Mandiri since May 19, 2019. During the recruitment of the state-owned bank, she was selected as the best graduate office development program (ODP).

From his position as an employee of a state-owned bank, today Sharon Florencia immediately "jumped" to replace Erick Thohir as Minister of SOEs. She and 6 participants of the #GirlsTakeover program, were selected from around 7 thousand applicants.

Meanwhile, the 5 female finalists of the program, on the same day will also play a role in leading the BUMN as the main director (Director) in 5 BUMN. The five SOEs are Bank BRI, Bank Mandiri, Angkasa Pura I, Kimia Farma, and Telkomsel.

For information, #GirlsTakeover is a global campaign program carried out simultaneously by Plan International to commemorate International Girls' Day which falls on October 11.

Since 2016, Plan International has facilitated more than 650 children to take over approximately 5,228 strategic positions. In Indonesia, Plan Indonesia has facilitated dozens of girls who have held five ministerial positions and 20 other high-ranking positions.
