Who Are The 6 Millennial Women Who Are 'entitled' To Replace Erick Thohir In The Position Of SOE Minister

JAKARTA - SOE Minister, Erick Thohir, hopes that six millennials participating in the #GirlsTakeover program can be included in the BUMN scholarship program.

"I hope that later there will be additional additions from the Ministry of SOEs where the six millennials selected in the #GirlsTakeover program will try to be included in the scholarship program that we have", said Erick Thohir at the #GirlsTakeover press conference in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Monday, September 27.

Erick congratulated the six millennials who have been selected from all over Indonesia.

"Also Alhamdulillah, in a coordination meeting with the Plan International Indonesia Foundation (Plan Indonesia), we believe this program is a success because the response has been extraordinary and this is also part of the transformation we want. In the first year, we did this, we finished it well. Earlier, we were committed, we hope that the Indonesian Human Capital Forum or FHCI BUMN will cooperate again for five years", said Erick Thohir.

Erick asked the Ministry of SOEs to support and endorse because this is a program that is not lip service at the Ministry of SOEs, but concrete programs that ensure women's leadership takes place and is now happening.

In supporting gender equality in Indonesia, the Ministry of SOEs and SOEs supports the creation of equal leadership in the world of work.

As a form of commitment and consistency in realizing this equality, the Minister of SOEs together with leaders of SOEs companies participated in the #GirlsTakeover global campaign organized with the Plan International Indonesia Foundation (Plan Indonesia) and SoEs Srikandi.

The campaign, which was held from August to October 2021, aims to support young people to grow into leaders.

#GirlsTakeover is a global campaign initiated by Plan International and held simultaneously in 75 countries each year in commemoration of International Day of the Girls which falls on October 11. This year, the theme is gender equality and youth leadership in the world of work.

In #GirlsTakeover 2021, the Minister of SOEs and the President Director of Angkasa Pura I, Bank Mandiri, Bank Rakyat Indonesia, Kimia Farma, and Telkomsel are ready to participate to be "taken over" by six young people aged 20-24 years.

They have been selected through a rigorous selection and a series of tests on 7,023 applicants, from late August to mid-September 2021.

The six young people are Adinda, 20 years old from Central Java; Arum, 23 years old from South Sulawesi; Putri, 21 years old from West Java. Sharon, 24 years old from West Java; Sicily, 22 years old from East Nusa Tenggara; and Virdha, 23 years old from Central Java.

These six young people have participated in a series of leadership classes entitled Girls Leadership Class online involving inspiring leaders.

Then, they will get mentoring and do shadowing with the Minister of SOEs and the Deputy Minister of SOEs for two days in Jakarta, on 27-28 September 2021. After that, the process of "taking over" the positions of the Minister of SOEs and other leaders will be carried out on September 30 and 1 October 2021.
