MAKASSSAR - The construction of the Makassar New Port (MNP) toll road access which is managed by PT Pelindo IV (Persero) is entering the preparation and socialization stage to residents in the two urban villages that will be affected by the development.
"Socialization of land acquisition for the construction of MNP toll road access in Makassar City is being socialized," said Senior Manager of Port Facilities of PT Pelindo IV Arwin in Makassar, quoted by Antara, Saturday, September 25.
He said the socialization was aimed at residents in Buloa and Kaluku Bodoa Villages, Tallo District. The socialization was carried out with the Makassar City Land Service and the South Sulawesi High Prosecutor's Office which was attended by the South Sulawesi Regional Leadership Coordination Forum (Forkopimda), Makassar City Forkopimda, all residents, and community leaders in the two urban villages.
Arwin said the toll road to MNP is a strategic plan for the central government's development that will be carried out by the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), while for land acquisition, Pelindo IV will carry out.
The toll road with a length of about two kilometers is an extension of the existing toll road to MNP. The budget needed is around Rp. 50 billion to Rp. 60 billion for about 1 km of land to be acquired for the construction of the toll road access.
Meanwhile, the budget for the construction of the toll access itself, said Arwin, is with the PUPR Ministry as the party that will build the toll road access.
“So, the construction is targeted to start this year. We are just waiting for the land acquisition to be built immediately,” he explained.
Meanwhile, Makassar Mayor Mohammad Ramdhan Pomanto (Danny Pomanto) said the construction of toll road access would benefit Makassar's position as a gateway in Eastern Indonesia (KTI).
According to him, if the access is complete, the toll road connection will be smoother and of course in accordance with the initial planning which was added with the railway line.
"God willing, this will become a very important part of the position of Makassar City," said Danny as the mayor's nickname.
He asked that the socialization carried out with all parties involved in the construction of this toll road could find a common ground, namely discussing land acquisition because this is an important part for mutual progress.
"God willing, as long as everything is in accordance with the rules and does not harm both parties, I am sure that I can quickly find common ground, prioritizing communication through Sipakatau, Sipakalebbi, Sikapale with the spirit of Taro Ada Taro Gau," said Danny Pomanto.
He asked the lurah and subdistrict head to continue to intensely bridge, mediate, and build good communication with the people in the two kelurahan who will later be affected by the construction of the MNP toll road access.
"As long as it is for the good and does not betray each other and respect each other, God willing, the liberation and realization of the Makassar New Port toll road will be realized faster than we expected," said Danny Pomanto.
