Gibran Anak Jokowi Wants Traders And Buyers To Intensify Non-Cash Transactions At 'Solo Great Sale'

JAKARTA - Surakarta Mayor Gibran Rakabuming Raka is trying to encourage traders and buyers to digitize the "Solo Great Sale" (SGS) 2021 which will be held during October.

"At this SGS, I invite market heads, traders, and buyers to be able to immediately digitize. We encourage residents to make transactions in a 'cashless' manner," he said at the QRIS Acceleration for Digitalization of Recent Payments (Adipati) activities at Pasar Gede Solo, quoted from Antara. , Friday September 3rd.

This effort is one way for economic recovery. With the existence of "cashless" or non-cash transactions, it can facilitate public transactions.

"Cashless gives buyers a sense of security, transactions are more effective, there is no need to bring a wallet to the market. In the midst of a pandemic, if you can reduce payments in cash," he said.

The non-cash service using QRIS is already available in 44 traditional markets in Solo City.

"I'm sure the traders are ready because they just need to 'scan'. Traders don't need to be afraid, in the evening the money will be disbursed immediately, it can be used for wholesale again," he said.

On the same occasion, Head of Bank Indonesia (BI) Surakarta Representative Office Nugroho Joko Prastowo said BI fully supports SGS as a vehicle to regenerate economic recovery during the pandemic after implementing PPKM.

"We invite financial service providers to carry out education, socialization, and acceleration. Including the corner of the SGS and QRIS information center in the markets, it can be a place for people to ask questions about SGS and to create a QRIS service account. We hope that this contribution can encourage SGS ," he said.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Surakarta Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Gareng S Haryanto said the use of the digital economy in the implementation of SGS was a priority. According to him, this is in line with the Bank Indonesia Adipati QRIS program which makes it easier for the public to pay for purchase transactions, either directly or online.

He said that this time SGS was attended by as many as 20,000 tenants from various business fields, including those from the transportation, hotel, small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and traditional markets sectors.

"This year's transaction target is IDR 800 billion, up from last year's IDR 700 billion," he said.
