Resigning From Commissioner Of Conglomerate Aburizal Bakrie's Company, Bumi Resources, Rosan Roeslani Becomes Indonesian Ambassador To The US

JAKARTA - Former chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin) Rosan Roeslani has resigned from his position as Independent Commissioner of PT Bumi Resources Tbk (BUMI). This is because Rosan was appointed by President Joko Widodo or Jokowi as Indonesian Ambassador to the United States.

Rosan replaced Muhammad Lutfi, who was appointed by Jokowi as Minister of Trade in December 2020. Meanwhile, Arsjad Rasjid, President Director of PT Indika Energi Tbk, replaced his position as Chairman of the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin).

BUMI is a mining company of the Bakrie Group. Rosan's position at Bumi Resources has only been around for a long time.

The reason is, Rosan was only appointed as President Commissioner at the Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) which was held last September 16, 2020, not even one year.

Bumi Resources Director & Corporate Secretary Dileep Srivastava said that Rosan's resignation from his positions as President Commissioner and Independent Commissioner took effect on Tuesday, August 24.

The resignation was carried out in compliance with the Financial Services Authority Regulation No.33/POJK.04/2014 concerning the Board of Directors and Board of Commissioners of Issuers or Public Companies.

"As a further process for the resignation of the Company's Commissioner, we will carry out the process as stipulated in the Company's Articles of Association and applicable laws and regulations", said Dileep, quoted from the information disclosure of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), Thursday, August 26.
