During PPKM, Passengers At Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Drop To 81 Percent, Batik Air Is The Least

JAKARTA - The manager of I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Bali, noted that the number of passengers for the period of July 2021 or during the implementation of the restriction on community activities (PPKM) decreased by 81 percent compared to June 2021.

"In July 2021, there was a decrease in passengers at Ngurah Rai Airport in connection with the implementation of PPKM, but this was done as an effort to anticipate the COVID-19 pandemic", said General Manager of the Branch Office of PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, Herry AY Sikado in Badung, Bali, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, August 4.

He said, during July 2021, Ngurah Rai Airport recorded a total of 84,115 passengers arriving and leaving the Island of the Gods.

In detail, 51,804 passengers left the island of Bali, 634 planes were transported, while the arrivals were recorded at 32,311 passengers with 630 aircraft.

For aircraft movements at Ngurah Rai Airport, Herry continued, there was also a decrease of 65 percent, as a result of the limited mobility of passengers during the COVID-19 pandemic.

He added that the three airlines that served the most passengers were Citilink Indonesia with 20,770 passengers, Garuda Indonesia with 12,529 passengers, and Batik Air with 7,336 passengers.

"Meanwhile, the three routes from which the most flights are destined for are Jakarta with 30,817 passengers, Surabaya with 4,791 passengers, and Ujung Pandang (Makassar) with 3,708 passengers", said Herry.
