Whether It's Good Or Bad News, Sri Mulyani Diverts Transfer Funds To The Regions By Rp1.96 Trillion For Vaccination

JAKARTA - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani diverted transfer funds to regions worth Rp. 1.96 trillion for the implementation of the COVID-19 vaccination program through the assistance of members of the TNI, Polri, and midwives from the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN).

"Actually, this budget is in the regions, but so far this has not happened. So earlier we heard complaints from the TNI who carried out vaccine operations, they had to take them out of their own budget. We will give it later and we will take the budget in the area directly before we transfer it, namely intercept," said Sri Mulyani, during a press conference on the Evaluation of the Implementation of Emergency PPKM, last Saturday, July 17.

Sri Mulyani explained that the purpose of the budget transfer was because the government wanted to accelerate the vaccination program for the community. As is known, the government targets the injection of vaccines in the community to reach 1-2 million doses per day.

In fact, the government wants to increase the vaccination target to 3 million doses per day. Therefore, vaccination is accelerated by involving members of the TNI, Polri, and midwives from the BKKBN.

The government plans to accelerate the distribution of vaccines to the public with a target of injecting 2 million doses per day starting in August 2021. Meanwhile, in September 2021, the target is to increase to 3 million doses per day.
