Bandung BRT Walking Project, Brantas Abipraya Prioritize Safety and Comfort of Residents

JAKARTA - PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero) has started to build the Bandung Basin Metropolitan Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project.

The work is carried out by prioritizing the safety and comfort of the community during the construction process.

This project is part of the government's efforts to present a modern, integrated, and environmentally friendly public transportation system in the Greater Bandung area.

As the implementing contractor, Brantas Abipraya together with stakeholders held a socialization to the public in Cibeunying Kidul District, Bandung, on June 15, 2026.

The activity aims to provide an understanding of the stages of work, traffic arrangements during construction, and the long-term benefits that will be obtained by the community after the BRT service operates.

Corporate Secretary of PT Brantas Abipraya (Persero), Dian Sovana said the construction of the Bandung Basin Metropolitan BRT is a strategic step to improve the quality of public transportation services while encouraging more efficient community mobility.

"Brantas Abipraya fully supports the development of integrated and sustainable mass transportation. The presence of the Bandung Basin Metropolitan BRT is expected to be a solution for community mobility while contributing to reducing congestion and vehicle emissions in urban areas," said Dian in an official statement, Wednesday, June 17.

The Bandung Basin Metropolitan BRT project includes the construction of on-corridor lines, stops, road pavement, to the revitalization of sidewalks designed to increase the comfort and safety of public transportation users and pedestrians.

To minimize the impact of the work on community activities and road users, Brantas Abipraya implements traffic management gradually during the construction period.

In addition, the company also carries out various security measures according to the safety and health of work (K3) standards.

In its implementation, Brantas Abipraya installed project signs, regulated the work zone, provided temporary pedestrian lanes, and prepared various other security devices to maintain the safety of workers and the community around the project site.

Dian emphasized that community involvement is one of the keys to the success of urban infrastructure development.

Therefore, Brantas Abipraya opens a communication space through the complaint service to receive various inputs, suggestions, and reports from the community during the project.

"We are committed to carrying out work while paying attention to the safety, quality, and comfort of the community. Through open and collaborative communication, we hope that this development can run smoothly and provide optimal benefits for the people of Greater Bandung," he added.

With the presence of BRT services, continued Dian, the public will later have access to faster, more comfortable, and reliable transportation, as well as supporting the creation of a more sustainable urban area.

"Through long experience in building various national strategic infrastructure projects, Brantas Abipraya is optimistic that it can complete the construction of the Bandung Basin Metropolitan BRT according to the target set, of course, by prioritizing safety, quality and sustainability, and providing added value for the community and regional development," said Dian.

Meanwhile, the representative of the Cicadas Village community, Suherman, hopes that the presence of the Bandung Basin Metropolitan BRT can have a wider positive impact, both in terms of transportation and the community's economy.
