Trade Minister Says MinyaKita Prices Have Fallen, Papua Still High

JAKARTA - Trade Minister Budi Santoso ensures that the export approval or PE rules remain at the Ministry of Trade. The technical rules are still through the Minister of Trade Regulation.

"Yes, it's still the same," said Budi after a limited meeting with President Prabowo Subianto at the Presidential Palace, Thursday, May 21, 2026.

When asked about the price of MinyaKita, which is said to be close to the price of premium cooking oil in the market, Budi asked the public to see the official data of the Market and Basic Needs Monitoring System or SP2KP.

"Try checking on SP2KP. We just use the data," he said.

SP2KP is a system for monitoring the prices of basic necessities in the field. The data is used by the government to see daily price movements in various regions.

According to Budi, the current price of MinyaKita is in the range of Rp. 15,800 per liter. This figure, according to him, is actually lower than the previous day.

"Today, if you check the price of MinyaKita, it is Rp. 15,800. So it is lower than yesterday," he said.

Budi admitted that prices in the eastern region, especially Papua, were still higher than in other regions. The government has asked Bulog to strengthen distribution to the region.

"Indeed, in the eastern region, Papua is higher. We have asked Bulog to distribute to that area," said Budi.

He ensured that price monitoring would continue every day. Market operations also continue to run with the National Food Agency or Bapanas.

"Market operations are often carried out, together with Bapanas," he said.

Budi also emphasized that the stock of cooking oil was safe. He asked the public and journalists to check the price data through SP2KP because the report came from the region.

"Stocks are safe, there is no problem. There is no problem with the prices of cooking oil," he said.

Regarding export rules, Budi again emphasized that the authority of the Ministry of Trade had not changed.

"Oh yes, the same," he said.
