JAKARTA - PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (InJourney Airports) stated that the peak of the Lebaran homecoming flow ran smoothly at 37 airports managed, with flight operations and passenger services running smoothly during the busy period.
"The peak of the homecoming flow at all airports managed by InJourney Airports on March 18, 2026 or H-2 Lebaran 2026 went smoothly," said InJourney Airports President Director Mohammad R. Pahlevi, quoted by Antara, Friday, March 20.
He said that at the peak of the homecoming flow, the total passenger movement at 37 airports reached 570,959 people, the highest figure during the Lebaran transportation period which took place on March 13-18, 2026.
The movement of aircraft at the peak of the homecoming flow was 4,043 flights. This smoothness is supported by mature operational and service planning at all airports, both in terms of facilities, human resources, including procedures.
According to him, the mature operational plan and support from stakeholders, including security support from the BKO TNI-Polri 578 personnel, allows all InJourney Airports to anticipate an increase in flight traffic and the number of aircraft passengers at the peak of the homecoming flow.
"Predictive readiness is the key to the smooth peak of the homecoming flow," said Pahlevi.
Cumulatively, during the Lebaran transportation period on March 13-18, 2026 (H-7 to H-2), the number of aircraft passengers at 37 airports reached 3.15 million passengers. This figure increased by 7 percent compared to the same period in 2025 which was recorded at 2.94 million passengers.
The number of aircraft movements also increased by 7 percent to 23,269 flights from the previous 21,748 flights.
The smoothness is also supported by the existence of additional flights (extra flights) operated by the airline with a total of more than 1,136 extra flights on March 13-17, 2026.
Furthermore, Pahlevi revealed that the achievement also surpassed the performance before the COVID-19 pandemic. The number of passengers on H-7 to H-2 was recorded to be higher by about 5 percent compared to the same period in 2019.
He emphasized that his party, together with all stakeholders, continues to collaborate to maintain the trend of flight traffic growth, including by ensuring the smooth flow of Eid transportation in the air transportation sector.
"Even though it is the peak of the homecoming flow at each airport, we managed to manage the increase in traffic well so as to minimize passenger and vehicle queues at the airport," said Pahlevi.
The five busiest airports from H-7 to H-2 are Soekarno-Hatta Tangerang Airport (1.06 million passengers), I Gusti Ngurah Rai Bali Airport (390,853 passengers), Juanda Surabaya Airport (266,910), Sultan Hasanuddin Makassar Airport (211,177 passengers) and Kualanamu Deli Serdang Airport (145,305 passengers).
"All airports managed by InJourney Airports are on standby to maintain aspects of security, safety and service on the Eid transport which will continue until March 30, 2026," he said.
