JAKARTA - PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk has received a new contract worth IDR 217.97 billion to work on the Cendrawasih Dobo Regional General Hospital (RSUD) project in Maluku. The construction of the RSUD shows the presence of the state in providing equitable health services.
Director General of Continuing Health of the Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) Azhar Jaya said that the construction of the RSUD is part of the best quick win acceleration program (PHTC) or quick win launched by President Prabowo Subianto. In this program, the government targets 66 hospitals to be upgraded from class D to class C.
"Last year 22 hospitals were built. The proof is there, last year the land was still flat, this year it has stood up proudly, the hospital has stood up proudly," said Azhar as quoted from a written statement, Friday, March 13.
Meanwhile, Waskita Karya Corporate Secretary Ermy Puspa Yunita said that the hospital building would be completed within 10 months, starting from March to December 2026.
"We are committed to completing this project on time and paying attention to quality standards, so that people in the Aru Islands Regency, especially the Aru Islands District, can get complete health facilities without having to travel long distances," he said.
In the development planning, said Ermy, his party will build a new warehouse with an area of 8,438 square meters on a land area of 36,185 square meters. It is located right in front of the RSUD area and can be accessed directly from the main road.
"The hospital building is located at the front of the site to ensure maximum accessibility. Primarily for outpatient patients and emergency services, because this position makes it easier for ambulances and visitors to enter the medical facility without having to enter deep into the area," he explained.
In terms of design, he continued, Waskita Karya is building a therapeutic environment designed to help the patient's recovery process. The company is also trying to improve the experience of patients and their families to get positive and sustainable health benefits.
"Waskita chose pastel-colored interior finishing materials and furniture to achieve a natural, warm and calming space. Then non-textured and anti-bacterial materials were also chosen so that the hospital's interior is easy to clean and always hygienic," he added.
