JAKARTA - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) reported that it had provided relief in the form of restructuring of People's Business Loans (KUR) to UMKM actors affected by disasters in Aceh, North Sumatra, and West Sumatra with a total restructuring provided reaching IDR 12.6 trillion for 246,000 accounts.

The Acting Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the OJK Commission Board, Friderica Widyasari Dewi, explained that this policy is a special treatment for debtors affected by disasters.

"Regarding the special treatment of credit financing to debtors affected by disasters in North Sumatra and West Sumatra, credit restructuring has been granted using the OJK policy of IDR 12.6 trillion for 246,000 accounts," he said in a press conference, Tuesday, March 3.

Previously, OJK had established a special treatment policy for loans or financing for debtors affected by disasters in the three provinces and has been in effect for three years since it was established on December 10, 2025.

The implementation of this policy refers to POJK Number 19 of 2022 concerning Special Treatment for Financial Service Institutions in Certain Regions and Sectors in Indonesia Affected by Disasters.

This rule applies to banks, financing institutions, venture capital companies, Micro Financial Institutions (LKM), and other Financial Services Institutions.

There are three forms of special treatment given to debtors affected by disasters, namely first, the assessment of credit quality is based on the accuracy of payment for the credit ceiling of up to IDR 10 billion.

Second, restructured loans can be determined to be of good quality, both for loans disbursed before and after the debtor was affected by the disaster, and third, the affected debtors can obtain new financing with separate credit quality determination, without applying the one obligor principle.
