Five Banks Syndicate Credit Rp13.64 Trillion to Finance Betung-Tempino-Jambi Toll Road

JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) or HK has signed a Credit Facility Agreement from a banking syndicate worth IDR 13.645 trillion to finance the construction of the Betung Toll Road (Sp. Sekayu) - Tempino - Jambi.

This step strengthens the project funding structure which is part of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS).

The financing facility was realized through a syndicated scheme involving PT Bank Mandiri (Persero) Tbk, PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, PT Bank Syariah Indonesia (Persero) Tbk, PT Sarana Multi Infrastruktur (Persero), PT Bank Central Asia Tbk and PT Bank Mega Tbk.

Executive Vice President (EVP) Corporate Secretary of Hutama Karya Mardiansyah explained, the Betung (Sp. Sekayu) - Tempino - Jambi section has a total length of around 170.73 kilometers.

The route is the main corridor of the JTTS which connects Betung in Banyuasin Regency, South Sumatra, to Jambi City, Jambi Province.

According to Mardiansyah, the existence of the section will integrate the toll network from the south to the north of Sumatra Island as well as strengthen connectivity on the main logistics route.

"The existence of this section is projected to be able to streamline travel, which according to the Core Indonesia study (2024), the time savings for this section is around 59.05 percent," said Mardiansyah as quoted from a written statement, Wednesday, February 25.

The increase in efficiency is expected to have an impact on improving the safety, comfort, and quality of transportation services for the community.

He added that the toll road is also expected to facilitate the distribution of goods and services and increase economic activity in the surrounding area.

With a more solid funding structure, the implementation of construction is targeted to run more consistently, so that economic and connectivity benefits can be felt gradually.

The credit facility agreement is part of the fulfillment of the project funding portion.

The support of the banking consortium and financing institutions is considered to reflect the commitment to the development of strategic national infrastructure.

"We appreciate all parties who have contributed to the realization of this syndication cooperation. We are optimistic that the synergy that has been built will continue and provide the greatest benefit for the community," he added.
