Bank Indonesia (BI) reported that the results of the Survey of Business World Activities (SKDU) showed a slowdown in business performance in the fourth quarter of 2025.

This condition is reflected in the Weighted Net Balance (SBT) value which was recorded at 10.61 percent, lower than the third quarter of 2025 which reached 11.55 percent.

BI Communication Department Executive Director Ramdan Denny Prakoso said that most business sectors still recorded positive performance with the highest SBT coming from the financial services sector, large and retail trade, and car and motorcycle repair services.

In addition, positive performance was also seen in the processing industry, government administration, compulsory social security and defense sectors, followed by the information and communication sector, as well as the provision of accommodation and food and drink.

"This is in line with the increase in activity during the National Religious Holiday (HBKN) Christmas and New Year period, which has boosted domestic demand," he said in a written statement, Monday, January 19.

Despite the slowdown, Ramdan emphasized that in general, business performance in the fourth quarter of 2025 is still in a maintained condition.

He explained that in terms of production, the utilization rate of production capacity in the fourth quarter of 2025 was recorded at 73.15 percent, slightly decreased compared to the third quarter of 2025 which reached 73.84 percent.

He added that the development of production capacity is supported by a number of sectors, especially the procurement of electricity and water, waste management, waste, and recycling activities.

"Meanwhile, the financial condition of the business world in general remains in good condition in terms of liquidity and profitability, with easier access to credit," he said.

In the future, he added that survey respondents estimate business activities in the first quarter of 2026 will increase with an SBT of 12.93 percent.

Ramdan added that the increase is expected to occur mainly in the agricultural, forestry, and fisheries sectors as the harvest season approaches.

In addition, the processing industry, transportation and warehousing, large and retail trade, and car and motorcycle repair sectors are also projected to grow, driven by increased community demand during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah.
