JAKARTA - The Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Ministry (P2MI) targets that the People's Business Credit (KUR) for migrant workers can be accessed by March 2026.

Deputy Minister Christina Aryani explained that the Budget User Authority (KPA) related to Migrant Worker KUR has now been officially transferred to the Ministry of P2MI from previously under the authority of the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (UMKM).

"With this transfer of KPA (Budget User Authority), the Ministry of P2MI can immediately carry out the KUR program for the placement of migrant workers," he said, quoting Antara.

The Ministry of P2MI noted that currently there are 14 banks with a total KUR financing ceiling of IDR 331 billion.

The Ministry of P2MI will soon finalize the cooperation agreement with all distributing banks within the next two weeks, said Christina.

Not only that, he also emphasized the importance of socialization to the community, especially prospective migrant workers, to understand the mechanism and how to access KUR.

"We want to make sure that people understand how to access this KUR easily and correctly," said the wamen.

He also asked his staff to prepare visual guidelines that will be disseminated through social media and supported by promotions through distributing banks.

"We want this KUR to be really effective and help Indonesian migrant workers from the stage of departure preparation," he said.
