JAKARTA - PT Waskita Karya (Persero) Tbk (WSKT) claims that the completion of dozens of temporary housing or huntara for victims affected by flash floods and landslides in Aceh Tamiang Regency, Aceh Province, only takes six days.

Waskita Karya President Director Muhammad Hanugroho said the acceleration of the huntara construction was carried out so that the affected community could immediately settle in.

"In six days, we managed to complete dozens of residential houses. This proves Waskita Karya's rapid action as the vanguard in helping our brothers and sisters affected by disasters," said the man who is often called Oho in an official statement on Friday, January 9.

The huntara area is also equipped with a public kitchen measuring 8×19 meters (m). Then, a tower building, precast drainage, and Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) are provided.

"Although this is a temporary residence, we still pay attention to the standards of building eligibility and quality. Huntara was built to meet the needs of safe emergency housing, with a sturdy structure prepared and basic utilities designed to function when occupied," he said.

In addition to working on residential buildings measuring 4.5x4.5 m, the company also built a toilet facility unit (MCK) and a Sewage Treatment Plant (STP).

In addition, there is also a prayer room measuring 9×13.5 m and a place for ablution measuring 6.6×13 m.

"We are also building pedestrian roads and access roads in the huntara area. The goal is that the community's connectivity and logistics distribution can run smoothly," said Oho.

Oho hopes that residents affected by the disaster can feel comfortable and can carry out their daily activities in the huntara.

"We are committed to monitoring the recovery of disaster-affected areas, especially Aceh Tamiang. Communication and coordination with the central government, regions and all stakeholders are also strengthened to revive the region," he said.

Meanwhile, 600 huntara built by a number of BUMN Karya have been handed over to the Aceh Tamiang Regency Government (Pemkab).

Currently, WSKT is also working on a huntara in the North Aceh area, covering Simpang Tiga, South Tanjong Dalam, and Leuobok Meuku.

The plan is to build 314 residential houses to provide decent housing for the community during the emergency after the disaster.

"We continue to pray that all residents affected by the disaster can recover immediately and rebuild their lives. This grief is not only for Aceh or Sumatra, but is felt by all Indonesian people," he added.
