JAKARTA - After focusing on reopening access and supporting the recovery of post-disaster infrastructure, the next need for flood-affected residents in Aceh Tamiang is a safe and decent living space. Responding to this need, Danantara collaborated with PT PP (Persero) Tbk (PTPP) in building temporary emergency housing after the flood in Aceh Tamiang Regency.
In this collaboration, Danantara initiated a program to rehabilitate community housing, while PTPP played a role in the implementation of housing development quickly, measured, and in accordance with construction safety standards. This housing is prepared as a temporary residence for affected residents so that they can return to carrying out daily activities more orderly during the transition period of recovery.
Overall, Danantara built 600 temporary housing units in the affected area, of which PTPP was responsible for the initial construction of 94 units. A total of 94 stage system housing units were built complete with supporting facilities, including MCK, water tanks, prayer rooms, wudhu and washing places, pedestrian roads, drainage, and MEP system areas.
All facilities are designed so that the residential area can be immediately used and meet the basic needs of residents. Until the beginning of January 2026, as many as 30 housing units have been completed and used, while the other 64 units are targeted to be completed gradually on January 8, 2026.
The construction process is carried out quickly and measured as a form of commitment from Danantara together with PTPP in responding to the urgent needs of disaster-affected communities.
PTPP Corporate Secretary, Joko Raharjo, revealed that the provision of temporary housing is an important part of the sustainable post-disaster recovery strategy.
"Recovery does not stop at improving access and infrastructure. Residents also need a safe place to live so that they can return to organizing daily activities. Through the collaboration initiated by Danantara, PTPP supports the provision of this temporary housing as a transition space before the medium and long-term recovery takes place," said Joko.
The construction of this temporary residence complements the post-disaster recovery efforts carried out by Danantara together with its implementing partners in Aceh and its surrounding areas, including the recovery of supporting infrastructure and access. The entire process is carried out through coordination with stakeholders so that the response provided is relevant and targeted.
Joko added, through this collaboration, Danantara and PTPP hope to help the community pass through the initial recovery phase more safely while supporting the gradual recovery of social life.
