JAKARTA - The government through the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) has set electricity tariffs for 13 non-subsidized customer groups that remain unchanged from January to March 2026.

Acting Director General of Electricity of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Tri Winarno, said that this decision was in accordance with the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Regulation Number 7 of 2024 concerning Electricity Tariff Provided by PT PLN (Persero), the adjustment of electricity tariffs for non-subsidized customers is carried out every three months by referring to changes in the realization of macroeconomic economic parameters, including exchange rates, Indonesian Crude Price (ICP), inflation, and Reference Coal Price (HBA).

"Based on the calculation of these parameters, the electricity tariff formula has the potential to change. However, in order to maintain people's purchasing power, the Government has decided that the electricity tariff for the first quarter of 2026 will remain unchanged," said Tri, quoted on January 1.

Furthermore, Tri said that the electricity tariff for 25 customer groups had not changed, with electricity subsidies still being provided. This policy is part of the Government's efforts to maintain economic stability and provide certainty for the public and business actors at the beginning of 2026.

The government, continued Tri, is also committed to maintaining the affordability of electricity tariffs and the sustainability of the national electricity supply.

"The public is urged to use electricity wisely as part of a joint effort to support national energy resilience and independence," explained Tri.

The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources also asked PT PLN (Persero) to continue to maintain the reliability of electricity supply, improve service quality, and optimize operational efficiency to provide the best service to all customers.
