JAKARTA - The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded that the number of residents in the Capital of Nusantara (IKN), East Kalimantan, reached 147,427 people currently.
BPS Head Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti said the number was obtained from the results of the first population census conducted by 856 BPS officers in the IKN delineation area several months ago.

"With a density of more than 400 people per square kilometer, the area is the center of population activity. Thus, it can become a priority in providing basic services and infrastructure for the Capital of Nusantara in the future," he said.
