Minister Of Transportation And Minister Of Home Affairs Synchronize Steps Ahead Of Nataru's Transportation

JAKARTA - Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi met with Minister of Home Affairs Tito Karnavian to harmonize strategic steps in preparing for the implementation of Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 (Nataru) transportation.

Minister of Transportation Dudy Purwagandhi said the Ministry of Transportation had begun to prepare for the implementation of Nataru transportation by coordinating and collaborating with other Ministries/Institutions and relevant stakeholders.

"Hopefully the implementation of Nataru this year will run smoothly and safely," said Dudy, in an official statement, Friday, November 21.

During the meeting, Dudy explained a number of collaboration plans between the Ministry of Transportation and the Ministry of Home Affairs, ranging from strengthening transportation safety, integration of public transportation in the regions, to aligning development planning for the transportation sector.

In addition, the meeting also discussed the handling of congestion and the implementation of transportation-based spatial planning (TOD).

Dudy said, the Ministry of Transportation and the Ministry of Home Affairs agreed to strengthen synergies in the development of regional transportation, supervision of local government ASN in transportation services, and harmonization of regulations to create more orderly and quality public services.

"We prioritize disciplinary enforcement in public services, especially in terminals and the land transportation sector, service with integrity and prevention of extortion," said Dudy.

In addition, Dudy also conveyed a number of factors that need to be anticipated in the implementation of Nataru transportation.

First, the Christmas and New Year holidays close to the weekend, increasing the potential for people to travel or vacation.

Second, continued Dudy, there is a national joint leave policy that provides flexibility for people to travel.

By President Prabowo Subianto's direction, the government launched the Christmas and New Year 2025/2026 stimulus program through the Joint Decree (SKB) of the four Ministers. Furthermore, we are also finalizing the Decree on the Policy on Limiting Goods Transportation During the Nataru Period to ensure the smooth movement of the community," he said.
