Ministry Of Investment Assigned By Jokowi To Facilitate Investors In NTT

JAKARTA - The ministry of investment gets a task from President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to facilitate investors to resolve obstacles in realizing their investment plans in the region. In carrying out this task, the Ministry of Investment conducts a "pick up the ball" strategy.

Deputy for Control of Investment Implementation Imam Soejoedi said with the strategy of picking up the ball is to go directly to businesses both Foreign Investment (PMA) and Domestic Investment (PMDN) to discuss the investment constraints faced.

Imam said he met directly with businesses in NTT Province who faced various investment constraints. Obstacles faced include infrastructure, overlapping licensing, land acquisition, and sectoral policy.

"The Ministry of Investment will continue to be committed to helping investors solve their problems which will certainly collaborate with local governments when they are implemented", he said in an official statement, Sunday, May 23.

Imam explained that in addition to facilitating the resolution of problems faced by investors, the Ministry of Investment is also committed to realizing the investment of PMA and PMDN businesses in the investment interest stage and those that have obtained licenses.

Furthermore, he said another thing that is also a priority of the Ministry of Investment is to encourage the acceleration of businesses that generate foreign exchange and job creation, accelerating collaboration between entrepreneurs and MSMEs.

"We will help the maximum. But entrepreneurs should be able to boost the local and regional economies. Businesses should provide as many opportunities as possible to businesses where the project is located to be able to collaborate, develop and succeed together", he said.

Imam said that formerly many foreign investors entered the area, giving opportunities to businesses in the project site area. From engineering, construction, sub-contractors, supply chains, to catering are given to subsidiaries or shareholders from the country.

"So the only thing that gets a job is that company", he said.

Therefore, said Imam, the government encourages investor collaboration with local entrepreneurs and MSMEs to make money turnover in the area. Certainly regional entrepreneurs who are professional and have good capacity and capabilities.
