JAKARTA - Head of the Halal Product Guarantee Administration Agency (BPJPH) Ahmad Haikal Hasan emphasized his commitment to ensuring that every manufacturer, especially micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs), finds it easy to advance to class through halal certification.

Haikal assessed that halal certification is not only a form of protection for consumers, but also an important instrument to improve the competitiveness and quality of domestic products.

"BPJPH continues to ensure that every producer, especially MSMEs, finds it easy to advance to class through halal certification," said Haikal as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, November 17.

The man who is familiarly called Babe Haikal said that halal certification has proven to increase market confidence, expand product access to the global halal ecosystem, and create new export opportunities for business actors in the regions.

The halal certificate is not just an administrative requirement. It is an economic instrument that is able to open new sustenance doors for business actors. Once the product is certified halal, the added value is immediately felt," he said.

In addition, Babe Haikal assessed that the halal certification process encourages product quality improvement, improves safety and hygiene standards, and makes MSME products more ready to compete.

This encourages the growth of a stronger and evener halal supply chain throughout Indonesia.

"This halal certificate instrument is an important part in encouraging equitable economic growth and improving community welfare. When MSMEs advance to class, the regional economy will move, and ultimately strengthen the national economy," he explained.

Haikal explained, BPJPH continues to expand services, strengthen collaboration with local governments and accompanying institutions, and optimize various certification schemes to make it easier for business actors to reach.

This step was taken to open wider market access for MSME products, both at the national and global levels.

"The more MSME products that are halal certified, the greater their chance of developing and penetrating the bigger market," he said.

Penguatan ekosistem halal, lanjut dia, merupakan kontribusi nyata BPJPH terhadap visi Presiden Prabowo Subianto yang menempatkan peningkatan produktivitas, kemandirian ekonomi, serta peningkatan kesejahteraan rakyat sebagai prioritas utama.

“Ketika lebih banyak produk Indonesia bersertifikat halal, maka rantai nilai ekonomi umat menguat, daya saing industri meningkat, dan kesejahteraan UMKM terangkat. Inilah kontribusi konkret BPJPH dalam mendukung agenda besar pembangunan nasional,” kata Haikal.

Strengthening the halal ecosystem, he continued, is a real contribution from BPJPH to President Prabowo Subianto's vision which places increasing productivity, economic independence, and improving people's welfare as a top priority.

"When more Indonesian products are halal certified, the economic value chain of the people strengthens, industrial competitiveness increases, and MSME welfare is raised. This is the concrete contribution of BPJPH in supporting the big national development agenda," said Haikal.
