Clashes With Employees, Brick Shoe Manufacturers Escape PKPU Lawsuit

JAKARTA - Shoe manufacturer PT Sepatu Bata Tbk provides official information related to the company's debts to other parties as decided by the court.

Based on the disclosure of information submitted by the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX), the Czechoslovakia multinational company said the Central Jakarta Commercial Court (PN) had revoked the status of Suspension of Debt Payment Obligation (PKPU) while PT Sepatu Bata Tbk. on May 20, 2021

Furthermore, in the document signed directly by Bata Corporate Secretary Theodorus Warlando Ginting it was also revealed that the company has fulfilled all obligations to other parties.

" (Fulfillment of obligations) by paying the agreed nominal in accordance with Article 245 of Law No. 37 of 2004 on Bankruptcy and PKPU," he said in a written statement, Friday, May 21.

Theodorus also ensures that this condition will not affect the running of the company's operational and business activities.

"There is no impact of such events, information or material facts on the operational activities, laws, financial conditions, or business continuity of issuers or public companies," he said.

For information, bata's stock-coded business entity was sued by its own former employees on behalf of Agus Setiawan related to business activity disputes.

This case then entered into the realm of law handled by the Jakarta Industrial Relations Court.

In an earlier statement, Theodorus confirmed that the PKPU application submitted by the applicant was weak enough about the company's obligations. Because, the material of the application in the form of severance submitted has been fulfilled in full by the company.

"The Company has complied with and complied with the ruling in the Industrial Law Court," he said.
