JAKARTA - The Financial Services Authority (OJK) encourages Financial Services Business Actors (PUJK) to increase ease of access to financing for the community. This step was taken to prevent people from being entangled in illegal lending practices such as moneylenders.

The Chief Executive of the Behavior Supervisory of Financial, Educated, and Consumer Protection Business Actors of OJK, Friderica Widyasari Dewi, said that this effort was aimed at preventing the public from being trapped in a financially burdensome loan system.

"That's why we challenge POJK-POJK to be able to provide access to the public to access credit financing and so on in a fast, easy and with a reasonable return rate," he said at the 2025 Financial Inclusion Month Peak event, quoted on Sunday, October 19.

Friderica added that the public should be able to obtain financing with a much lighter interest compared to loans from illegal parties.

"So we challenge PUJK-PUJK throughout Indonesia to be able to also get faster, better, easier. But of course, interest is definitely lower than what the illegal ones offer," he said.

In addition, Friderica also revealed that the big challenge that OJK is still facing is increasing the level of financial literacy and inclusion.

He said that the current level of financial literacy was at 66.46 percent, while financial inclusion under the supervision of the OJK had reached 80 percent.

"Moreover, the government has a program on how all Indonesian people choose accounts. This is also our homework," he explained.

As part of the 2025 Financial Inclusion Month commemoration, OJK Head Purwokerto Haramain Billady explained that a team of OJK Financial Literacy Friends had been formed consisting of 25 people, namely 15 students and 10 representatives of the local community and had organized various educational activities to the community.

"They have been doing activities for 2 months, 56 activities have reached 2,500 people. So we are trying not only the OJK itself, but we are also working with the Financial Literacy Ambassador. In addition, we are also educating people with disabilities, we are also educating the Korem 071 Wijaya Kusuma, and also several universities," he said.

In addition, he conveyed that the education and inclusion program was also strengthened through the initiative of the Inclusive Financial Inclusion Village (IKI), which is now running in several locations, including two villages in Purwokerto, one village in Purbalingga, and one village in Banyumas.
