JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia revealed that PT Freeport Indonesia (PTFI) has not submitted a revision of the Work Plan and Budget (RKAB).
This follows a landslide incident in an underground mine at the Grassberg Block Cave (GBC), Mimika Regency, Central Papua.
"Until now, we have not revised RKAB, yes, for Freeport. There is not yet," Bahlil told the media crew after attending the 2025 Minerba Convex in Jakarta, Wednesday, October 15.
Bahlil said that currently PTFI is still reorganizing after the landslide incident.
Not only that, the government and Freeport are evacuating so that landslides do not occur in the future.
"We pray that what is being done now is for post-discussed arrangement, it can be completed soon," said Bahlil.
After the landslide incident in the underground mine, Freeport then temporarily suspended its mining activities for an undetermined time.
With the cessation of this mining activity, Bahlil ensured that it would affect the production and supply of copper to the PTFI smelter in Gresik.
"Thus, I have confidence, as a result of the supply concentrate that has not reached the maximum, surely the smelter will be stretched," he continued.
