The Ministry Of Public Works Disburses IDR 1.8 Trillion For The Irrigation Work Intensive Program

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) has disbursed a budget of IDR 1.8 trillion to implement the Irrigation Water Administration Improvement Program (P3TGAI) at 8,000 location points.

Program yang merupakan jenis Padat Karya Tunai (PKT) itu tidak hanya meningkatkan infrastruktur irigasi, tetapi juga menyerap tenaga kerja secara luas di berbagai daerah Indonesia.

Until the end of September 2025, the physical progress reached 54.52 percent with a financial progress of 76.88 percent.

Through this activity, 65,424 workers have been absorbed with a total of 2,944,080 Working People's Days (HOK).

PU Minister Dody Hanggodo said the program is an important instrument to ensure the benefits of development can be felt evenly throughout the community.

"By involving local residents in development, labor intensively creating jobs, reducing unemployment and increasing people's purchasing power," said Dody in his official statement, quoted Friday, October 3.

Dody added that the implementation of P3TGAI was carried out in a self-management pattern by community groups.

With this mechanism, funds are allocated and rotated directly in the village and foster a sense of belonging to the community for the infrastructure being built.

"By involving the community directly, this program not only produces useful infrastructure, but also empowers the community to be actively involved in development," he said.

For 2026, the Ministry of Public Works has prepared a plan to expand P3TGAI to 12,000 locations, an increase of 50 percent compared to 2025.

This step is in line with President Prabowo Subianto's directives so that infrastructure development is carried out in a labor-intensive manner, empowers the community and strengthens national food security.

In addition to P3TGAI, the cash-intensive program at the Ministry of Public Works also includes road and bridge maintenance, Pamsimas, Sanimas to the development of regional socio-economic infrastructure (PISEW).

Overall, the labor-intensive 2025 program has absorbed more than 147,518 workers with a total of 4.61 million HOKs in various fields.

As of September 2025, the realization of the budget has reached Rp1.53 trillion from the allocation of Rp3.46 trillion.

"This achievement shows the commitment of the Ministry of Public Works in carrying out inclusive infrastructure development and has a direct impact on people's welfare," he concluded.
