Government Launches Five Economic Programs To Create Millions Of Jobs

Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto announced five economic policy package programs that are expected to be able to create new jobs.

He conveyed that one of the programs was the Merah Putih Village/Kelurahan Cooperative.

"The first is of course the Red and White Village Cooperative, there are 80,000 new employees, estimated to absorb 681,000 and the target is up to 1 million people in December," Airlangga said at a conference at the Presidential Office, Monday, September 15.

Next, the Red and White Fishermen's Village is targeted for long-term creation of 200,000 jobs.

"Then the Red and White Fishermen's Village, this year the target is 100 villages, it is hoped that it can absorb 8,645 workers, in the long term 4,000 points can create 200,000 jobs," he explained.

Airlangga conveyed that the third program, namely the revitalization of a 20,000 hectare pantura pond, is expected to be able to absorb 168,000 workers.

He added that the next program, namely the modernization of 1,000 fishing boats, is expected to create 200,000 jobs.

"Then the Ship Modernization program, there are a thousand fishing boats, this is estimated to create 200,000 new jobs, and there are also 30 GT, 150 GT and units for KN Merah Putih Cooperative, 30 GT 1,000 units, 150 GT 200 units, 200 GT 200 units, 300 GT 170 units, 600 GT 10 units, 2,000 GT 2 units for BUMN or Jaladri existing business actors," he explained.

Airlangga menambahkan, program selanjutnya yakni Perkebunan Rakyat dengan penanaman kembali 870.000 hektare oleh Kementerian Pertanian yang diharapkan membuka 1,6 juta lapangan kerja dalam 2 tahun.

"Program Perkebunan Rakyat, itu penanaman kembali 870.000 hektaree oleh K/L, Kementerian Pertanian, diharapkan bisa membuka lapangan kerja lebih dari 1,6 juta dengan komoditas prioritas antara lain tebu, kakao, kelapa, kopi, mete, dan pala," pungkasnya.

Airlangga added that the next program is People's Plantation with 870,000 hectares of replanting by the Ministry of Agriculture which is expected to open 1.6 million jobs in 2 years.

"The People's Plantation Program, which replants 870,000 hectares by K/L, Ministry of Agriculture, is expected to open up more than 1.6 million jobs with priority commodities including sugar cane, cocoa, coconut, coffee, mete, and nutmeg," he concluded.
