Distribute Funding For Kopdes, BNI Makes Sure It Doesn't Affect The Congested Credit Ratio

JAKARTA - PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (BBNI) has confirmed that banking funding to the Merah Putih Village/Sub-District Cooperative will not affect the risk of BNI bad credit.

BNI Head of Investor Relations, Yohan Setio explained, as a state-owned bank, BNI always supports the government's program while still prioritizing the principle of prudence. Not only that, as a bank, BNI also ensures the commercial aspects of every credit payment made.

"We will support government programs while prioritizing the precautionary principle, paying attention to the commercial aspects of every credit we provide," he said in a Public Expose, Monday, September 8.

On the other hand, he continued, BNI also pays attention to laws and regulations stating that the Kopdes program is designed prudently where banks are required to analyze credit deserves for every cooperative that applies for loans.

"So there is an analysis process, it is not automatically directly approved," he continued.

He added that banks can also use the allocation of village funds from the central government to cover the lack of payments within certain limits.

In other words, banks need to maintain the exposure to providing per Cooperative credit so that the total unsecured exposure is relatively small.

"With the regulation of the village fund intercept scheme, we conclude that there is an indirect guarantee scheme from the government regarding the KDMP program," he added.
