JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) recorded that food and beverage (Mamin) exports reached USD 14.66 billion during the January-April 2025 period.
This was conveyed by Deputy Minister of Industry (Wamenperin) Faisol Riza in his remarks at the Business Matching and Indonesian Product Exhibition event titled "Specialty Indonesia 2025" at the Kemenperin Building, Jakarta, Monday, August 4.
"In the January-April 2025 period, this sector recorded an export value of USD 14.66 billion and an import value of USD 4.23 billion," said Faisol.
Faisol added that the sector also continued its trend of a trade surplus, reaching USD 10.43 billion.
Investment in this sector also recorded significant growth, reaching IDR 22.64 trillion by March 2025.
"Investment in this sector is also growing and attracting interest from investors, as evidenced by the growth in realized investment, which reached IDR 22.64 trillion in the first quarter of 2025," he said.
Meanwhile, in the first quarter of 2025, the sector's contribution reached 41.15 percent of gross domestic product (GDP) from the non-oil and gas processing industry and 7.2 percent of national GDP.
"The food and beverage industry is a strategic sector that plays a vital role in supporting the national economy," explained Faisol.
According to Faisol, Indonesia is blessed with abundant biodiversity, which is a crucial asset for the development of the domestic processing industry.
"This potential continues to be optimized to meet the needs of both domestic and global markets, particularly by increasing the added value of the coffee, tea, cocoa, fruit, and milk processing industries," he concluded.
The Ministry of Industry, through the Directorate General of Agro-Industry, will host the Specialty Indonesia 2025 event on August 4-8, 2025.
