JAKARTA - Perum Bulog continues to strengthen the system of supervision and maintenance of rice in all storage warehouses. This step is taken to maintain the quality of Government Rice Reserves (CBP).

Director of Operations and Public Services of Perum Bulog, Mokhamad Suyamto, said that this effort was carried out in a structured and professional manner to ensure that every grain of rice stored and distributed to the public was always in the best condition.

In each warehouse, continued Suyamto, Bulog assigned special officers who were responsible for monitoring and examining the quality of grain and rice from farmers.

Suyamto said that all incoming rice must go through a thorough inspection process, involving independent surveyors to ensure transparency and accuracy of quality standards.

Quality supervision is carried out from the acceptance stage to the storage period. We ensure that quality is maintained in order to support national food security," said Suyamto in an official statement, Friday, July 18.

Not only at the beginning of the receipt, Bulog also implemented a periodic maintenance system for the stored rice stock. The principle of Integrated Warehouse Pest Management (PHGT) is the main reference in commodity management.

PHGT includes cleaning warehouses, monitoring conditions regularly, preventive measures such as spraying, to curative steps such as fumigation in the event of a pest attack.

"These surveillance and maintenance measures are part of Bulog's commitment to maintaining public trust and ensuring the availability of safe rice, feasible for consumption, and high quality," he said.

Suyamto explained that the quality of this maintained rice is very important not only to support the Food Supply and Price Stabilization (SPHP) program, where people can get quality rice at affordable prices, but also to support the Food Assistance (Bandang) program so that the beneficiaries get rice that is safe and according to consumption standards.

"Maintaining the quality of rice is not only a matter of storage, but also ensuring that people get the best food in each distribution layer," he concluded.

With a strict, measurable, and sustainable management system, Bulog is committed to being at the forefront of maintaining food stability and supporting the welfare of the Indonesian people.
