Entering The 2025 Giling Season, ID FOOD Increases Sugar Production Target

JAKARTA - Food SOE Holding ID FOOD will start entering the sugar milling season in 2025. The company will also increase its sugar production target this time of the milling season.

ID FOOD President Director Ghimoyo said the company's sugar factory was ready to accept and process sugarcane from farmers.

Ghimoyo said the initial stage of the ID FOOD Group game in 2025 began in the East Java region, namely PG Rejo Agung Baru which is located in Madiun and PG Krebet Baru Malang. The two PGs are managed by the subsidiary ID FOOD, namely PT PG Rajawali I.

In the 2025 giling, he continued, PT PG Rajawali I targets sugar production to be as much as 212,000 tons, or an increase from the previous year's production which was at 208,000 tons. The increase in production was contributed by PG Krebet Baru by 156,000 tons and PG Rejo Agung Baru by 56,000 tons.

Furthermore, Ghimoyo said that this increase in production was also accompanied by an increase in the sugar cane target being ground to 2.7 million tons this year.

"It is targeted that PT PG Rajawali I will be able to reach 2.7 million tons of sugar cane milled around, this amount is supplied by PG Krebet Baru as much as 1.9 million tons and PG Rejo Agung Baru as much as 800,000 tons. In addition, the area area of sugar cane is also expected to continue to grow to 37,000 Ha in 2025, or increase from the previous year which was at 36,000 Ha," he said.

To ensure the achievement of this target, Ghimoyo encourages solid collaboration both internally and externally by cooperating with all sugar factory stakeholders.

According to Ghimoyo, it is necessary to support sugarcane farmer partners and the entire crop team, especially Sugar Factory Field Officers (PLPG) who are at the forefront to supply the best quality sugar cane.

"Currently, PT PG Rajawali I has more than 19 thousand sugarcane farmers partners who have become part of the company's sugar industry ecosystem. I thank you for the trust of farmer partners who have entrusted their crops to be milled at our sugar factory," he explained.

Furthermore, Ghimoyo said, with a number of preparations and improvements that have been made in the past year, it is hoped that by 2025 the overall performance of PG ID FOOD Group will be better than the previous year, which was marked by increased production and rendement.

Meanwhile, overall, through six sugar factories located in East Java and West Java this year, ID FOOD targets sugar production of 350,000 tons, or an increase of 14 percent from the previous year's production which was at 306,000 tons.

Ghimoyo said the increase in ID FOOD sugar production is expected to contribute to maintaining supply for meeting domestic sugar needs.

"This is part of our commitment to support the acceleration of sugar self-sufficiency according to Presidential Regulation Number 40 of 2023, concerning the Acceleration of National Sugar Self-Sufficiency and the Provision of Bioethenol as Nabati Fuel," he said.

For your information, based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), sugar production in 2023 in East Java reached 49 percent or 1.12 million tons of the total national sugar production in 2023 which was 2.2 million tons.
