JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works (PU) is preparing 23 strategic projects through the Government and Business Entity Cooperation (KPBU) scheme with a total value of IDR 162.46 trillion.

This is one of the points presented by Deputy Minister of Public Works Diana Kusumastuti during an online meeting with the Nantong City Foreign Affairs Office, China, and the Indonesian Consulate General in Shanghai, today.

The meeting was to discuss opportunities for investment cooperation and policies in the Indonesian construction sector which are wide open to international partners.

Diana explained, there are 10 KPBU projects worth IDR 42.57 trillion in the water and energy resources sector and 5 other projects worth IDR 31.97 trillion which include a drinking water supply system and irrigation modernization.

In addition, there are 8 large-scale projects worth IDR 87.92 trillion that are ready to be offered, including the construction of toll roads, renewable energy and water and irrigation systems.

"All of these projects are designed as promising investment opportunities with a transparent, risk-sharing and sustainable scheme for public and private partners," Diana said as quoted in a written statement, Thursday, April 17.

To support the investment climate, Indonesia continues to simplify business licensing through the Online Single Submission (OSS) system and regional-based tax policy.

In addition, Diana also emphasized that the involvement of foreign investors is clearly regulated through the Construction Services Law and the Job Creation Law, including through the International Competitive Bidding mechanism.

On this occasion, Diana also appreciated the delegation of the Nantong City Government for its interest and involvement in exploring opportunities for infrastructure cooperation in Indonesia.

"We hope that this collaboration can strengthen connectivity and create a better future for both countries," he concluded.
