Monitoring Lebaran Backflow, BPH Migas Ensures Safe Fuel Stock After Eid 2025

JAKARTA - The Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) continues to monitor the supply and distribution of fuel oil (BBM) after the celebration of Eid al-Fitr 1446 Hijri to ensure that the supply and energy distribution for the community runs smoothly and safely.

This was conveyed by members of the BPH Migas Committee Iwan Prasetya Adhi and Harya Adityawarman during a field visit to several public gas stations (SPBU) on the rest area of the Central Java region.

"For now, our fuel consumption is approximately 60 kiloliters, this is approximately 1.5 times the normal condition," said Iwan as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, April 9.

Iwan explained, when the peak of backflow was on April 3-4, 2025, at the Rest Area 360B gas station and 389B, fuel consumption reached more than 100 kiloliters per day, or almost 200-300 percent higher than normal conditions.

He added that the expiration period of Eid al-Fitr 1446 H which falls on April 7, 2025, is the final momentum of backflow for the community, especially the route to Jakarta.

"God willing, everything is in a smooth, safe and controlled condition, there is also no problem with fuel stocks," he said.

Furthermore, Harya Adityawarman added, the highest consumption of fuel during backflow at several gas stations visited occurred on April 3-4, 2025.

Harya emphasized that the stock at each gas station was safe.

"With a safe stock of fuel, it can provide the best service for travelers who will return to Jakarta and its surroundings," he said.

In addition, he also appreciated the support and careful preparation of gas station managers in serving the community, so as not to cause long queues.

"Friends of gas station managers swiftly anticipate and serve people returning from Central Java and East Java to Jakarta. Hopefully, the arrangement of gas stations on the backflow of Eid can continue smoothly and safely until the post period ends," said Harya.

Meanwhile, BPH Migas also checks the quality and volume of fuel.

In terms of quality, checking Research Octane Number (RON) levels and water levels in fuel storage tanks.

Meanwhile, the volume of fuel is measured according to the amount of liter coming out of the nozzle with a predetermined measuring vessel.

The day before, BPH Migas also visited the Rest Area Pendopo gas station KM 456B Semarang Regency and the Rest Area Agro gas station KM 445B Semarang Regency.

During this working visit, the Sales Area Manager of PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Semarang, Achmad Rifqi, was also present.
