Dasco Affirms Sri Mulyani Will Not Resign From Prabowo-Gibran Cabinet

JAKARTA - Deputy Chairman of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) Sufmi Dasco Ahmad emphasized that the issue of the resignation of Finance Minister Sri Mulyani Indrawati from the ranks of the Merat Putih Cabinet was not true.

"I make sure that Mrs. Sri Mulyani will not back down and our fiscal is strong," he told the media crew, Tuesday, March 18.

Similarly, the Chairman of Commission XI Misbakhun emphasized that Indonesia's fiscal condition is currently in a strong sustainability process.

"There are situations where the decline is a very natural initial decline situation. And usually we will experience a rebound in the following processes," he said.

Therefore, Misbakhun said that market participants do not need to overreact.

"There is no need to be overreacted," he explained.

Previously, the House of Representatives (DPR) conducted a surprise inspection (sidak) of PT Bursa Efek Indonesia (IDX).

This inspection was carried out in relation to the weakening of the Composite Stock Price Index (JCI) movement at the level of 6,076.08, down 6.12 percent at the close of trading session I, Tuesday, March 18.

The visit was attended, Deputy Speaker of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Sufmi Dasco Ahmad, Chairman of Commission XI of the House of Representatives, Mukhamad Misbakhun, and Deputy Chairman of Commission XI Mohamad Hekal, Wihadi Wiyanto, Putri Komarudin and Fauzi Amro.

The visit was also welcomed by IDX President Director Iman Rachman, along with all levels of IDX directors and members of the Board of Commissioners of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) as well as the Chief Executive Supervisory of the Capital, Finance, Derivative and Carbon Exchange Inarno Djajadi Market.

The chairman of Commission XI of the DPR, Mukhamad Misbakhun, conveyed that the visit was aimed at providing a positive response to the Indonesia Stock Exchange, and emphasized that there was no panic.

"We want to make a positive response to the stock exchange, there is no panic whatsoever," he explained to the media crew, Tuesday, March 18.
